We hope this report is well received and becomes your historical sketch of the Northfield Township Road District.

The Road District is responsible for an evolving scope of public services including, but not limited to: Administration; Storm Sewer Systems; Public Streets (includes long range resurfacing plan); Parkway Services; Traffic Controls; Storm and Ice Controls; and Fleet Maintenance.

Unlike the State of Illinois, County of Cook or Municipalities, the Northfield Township Road District relies solely on capped real estate taxes as its only source of funds. The residents whom we serve have deemed services that were once considered discretionary, fundamental to the quality of life. Our challenge is to meet those increasing demands for more, better and different services while controlling cost.
