A cyclist must obey traffic laws including, stopping at stop signs and
red lights, using turn signals, and giving way to pedestrians.
- Always wear a
good quality helmet when riding a bicycle.
- A bicycle ridden
in the street must be operated as close to the right hand curb a practical and
in the same direction as the flow of traffic.
- When riding at
night, you must have a white light shining forward and a red reflector on the
back of your bicycle.
- Wear a reflective
vest to increase your visibility.
- Use both hands
to control the bicycle. If you have items to carry use a basket or backpack.
- Lock your bike
when you leave it unattended.
