Residents are reminded that the Northfield Township Road District, Cook County and the surrounding Villages require permits for most projects. Permits, which protect homeowners, must be obtained before work begins.

A new Northfield Township Road District permit process began in November of 2001. You may now download permit instructions and forms from our Website. Go to www.northfieldtownship.com and click on Northfield Township Road District then click on the photo. You will find the forms by clicking on the forms heading.

If you are not sure your project requires a Township Permit, call the Highway Commissioner at 847-724-7055. Allow at least 21 working days for review and permit approval from the Road District.
