The Northfield Township
Road District 

 The Northfield Township Recycling program will resume on Monday, April 5, 2021 during the normal Road District business hours of 7:00AM to 3:00PM, Monday - Friday, excluding holidays, at 237 Melvin Drive in Northbrook. The program will end for the year on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 3PM.




1) The Road District accepts CDs and DVDs for recycling - NO VHS/CASSETTE TAPES or COMPUTER DISKS are accepted.

2) The Village of Glenview's first Friday drug take back program hours are now from 8AM until 2PM only. Call the village hall with any questions.

We are sorry for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.



 With the recent COVID-19 crisis and for the safety of staff and attendees, the following protocols have been developed and put in place:

- Residents please be ready to clearly show your Identification indicating you reside within Northfield Township. This service is only for Northfield Township Residents, all others will be turned away.

- Residents and staff members will follow the guidelines determined by the Phase in the “Re-open Illinois” under the Governors order. I.E. Phase 3, Phase 4 or Phase 5.

- During your visit at the Road District recycling center, all efforts will be made by staff and residents to be contactless.

Our Highway Commissioner, Tim Rueckert, is recognized for his dedication in meeting the residents’ needs. Under Tim's leadership, the Road District provides more efficient and economical services. Working together in a cooperative and professional manner with neighbors, Cook County, the State of Illinois and the surrounding villages, problems are identified, and practical, cost-effective solutions are developed utilizing the resources at hand.
