Northfield Township Road District
Important Recycling Changes
We believe that our residents want to be responsible and recycle in an environmentally conscientious way. The Road District’s mission is to offer simple and convenient solutions to management of recyclables that reward our residents’ environmental integrity.
Please join the Road District to take advantage of our many opportunities to keep recyclables out of our garbage dumps.
In an effort to make recycling easier and more convenient for our residents, a decision has been made by Highway Commissioner Amarantos to open the Northfield Township Road District garage doors as a recycling center from Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. For the 2012 season, the drop-off will start Monday, March 19th and end on Friday, November 16th. Please pull up to the front of the garage building at 1928 Lehigh in Glenview, ring the bell and we will help you take the recyclable material out of your car. Please see the following list of materials that the Road District will accept for recycling.
ITEMS ACCEPTED: art supplies, batteries (all types), bikes & toys (usable condition), cell phones/pagers, clothing (usable condition), computers and computer hardware, electronics, engine oil, eyeglasses, flags, household paint (oil & latex, limited to 10 one gallon cans or 2 five gallon buckets), hydraulic oil, ink/toner cartridges, metal, paper, Styrofoam, televisions, therapeutic equipment (canes, crutches, standers, walkers, wheelchairs), tires and transmission fluid.
In addition, we have partnered with the Village of Northbrook to provide additional opportunities to recycle with an added drop-off location in Northbrook.
